Full house of groms

Hi all,
Well April started off with clean conditions and some really nice Peak days, our group of Japanese guests from Geek Out enjoyed and managed to score small Dylan’s and uncrowded waves around the south end of the island with clean glassy perfect Peak conditions.

We then got our first father and son crew arriving from Foster NSW Australia, they had booked a 33 day trip so it kicked off once again with nice Peak days and a few secret missions around the island to some of our favourite day trip options and scored time to ourselves. These waves are all wind dependant so most days we surfed lefts one day and then rights the other. After these big adventures everyone was feeling like a cruiser day at the waves around the resort. Jay snapped his favourite board early at the Peak with some performance aerial and big turn surfing doing his sponsors Rusty proud.

Just before our second father son daughter crew arrived Damo tweaked his knee doing man turns at the Peak and was a bit sore for a few days and after a few days rest got back out there for the remaining of his 33 day trip with his mates.

By now we had a full house of frothing groms, their dads having a good catch up, many a sting pong game going down and the groms charging on snacks and ice creams to keep the sugar levels high for the multiple surfs each day.

Surf wise was epic for them as we continued the pattern of a heaps of day trips missions north and south and scoring every time from 3 to 4 foot Thailand’s with nobody out to teabags 4-5 foot where Oscar riding for O’Neill got the barrel of the day as well at a couple other breaks we will keep quiet for now!

We had another pretty classic trip to Thailand’s with the full crew where Pops snapped his leggie twice and ended up on the reef on his bum and his son Jerry kept paying out on him. Pops took on a few Simeulue tattoos around the area you don’t really want them and nobody was really keen to check the damage at the time! Classic Boat trips were fun with non stop grom action, jumping off the boat and surfing and even some spear fishing going down.

We managed to score a slab we have been checking out for some time, this day it was on with Tomas our surf guide Salty and Oscar and Leila paddling out to some mad pits!

Dylan’s didn’t really get breaking this month only the odd day here and there but everyone was frothing on surfing by themselves each day at the many other epic spots around this island!

Our swimming pool wasn’t quiet complete for their trip so a few sessions out front on the beachie of the resort, Nate hanging with the local kids pushing them onto a few sliders with smiles all over their faces and the boys even managed to ride a couple buffalos up the beach as well has kicking the soccer balls around or hacking the golf clubs.

We would like to thank Damo and Jay, Pops and Jerry, Hoppo and Nate, Leila Salty and Oscar as well as O’Neil Rusty and Billabong, photographer #wilzen_crawford and the crew from GeekOut travel for joining in on our fun over April

Cheers
The Moon Beach Crew
